Houston-born singer/songwriter Emma Ogier has signed with Lost Highway Records and will release her debut album, Fly 1111, on November 11. Produced by David Baron, the album examines the costs and sacrifices that come with leading a creative life and the importance of trusting oneself in times of confusion.

To celebrate the announcement, Ogier dropped her new single, “Hands Tied,” which captures the euphoria of falling in love.

Listen to the single.

“Hands Tied” follows “Keep You,” a song [Wonderland Magazine] called “a delicate and divine slice of balladic folk. Paying homage to Joni Mitchell’s seminal ‘Coyote,’ it’s a narrative of raw romanticism and honed-in honesty, aided by Ogier’s stunning voice and backed by a mesmerizing naturalistic background.”

“What struck us immediately about Emma is how completely herself she is,” say Robert Knotts and Jake Gear, EVPs and Co-Heads of Lost Highway Records. “Her songs are intimate and deeply human, but there’s also a restless creative spirit behind them. She isn’t interested in fitting neatly into a genre or following a prescribed path, which is exactly what we admire most about her. She’s unstoppable and is just getting started.”

Ogier made her Austin City Limits Festival debut on October 3. She is kicking off her touring journey by supporting Hovvdy on the first leg of their North American tour, and will join Joshua Slone at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on November 4. In January 2027, she will join Bright Eyes for their two-night stand at Brooklyn Paramount in New York City.

Ogier discovered her niche for writing songs during the pandemic, a time of unceasing isolation for the then-teenage Houston native. [Vice] observed, “Some artists come along, and they just represent a future or possibility that feels implausible. What they do is so elevated and ingenious that it shouldn’t exist yet. Emma Ogier is one of those artists.” [Pigeons & Planes] named her one of its Best New Artists, saying, “Ogier’s eventual breakout feels inevitable. Her music is the key player in what makes that momentum feel so natural. There’s an earnestness to Ogier’s songwriting, paired with earworms and catchy hooks that make her songs immediately approachable.”
