She Rocks Podcast: Ep. 75 Pops Magellan, Brazilian Bassist, Composer and Producer

In this episode, we sit down with Brazilian bassist, producer, and composer Pops Magellan (aka Poliana Magalhaes) to discuss her debut EP Damageher journey as a bass player, what it has been like to step into her own creative space, and more.

For 15 years, Pops has worked with artists like Adam Lambert, Willow, Avril Lavigne, Anitta, Larry Braggs (Tower of Power), Monte Moir (The Time), Cimafunk, and Artur Menezes. Still, she is now stepping out of the rhythm section shadows and into the spotlight with this debut EP. The six-track EP lets Pop carve her own path through Motown grooves, funk fusion, R&B, electronic, psychedelic, and Brazilian vibes.

Damage displays virtuosic instrumentals with soulful vocals throughout the six tracks, all composed by the multi-faceted artist. Perfect for the dancefloor, yet innovative musically to gain the respect of even the staunchest musicians, Magellan ignites a new voice that pushes boundaries with her bass-driven vision.
